JUNE 2024

Luis Diaz does it again  . . .

Luis Diaz captured his third Sonoma County Amateur Golf Championship May 18-19 at Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park.

Diaz prevailed in the 54th annual event, shooting a 4-under-par 73-67—140. Diaz was also the champion in 2018 and 2021.

He was followed by Taylor Travis and Colin Huang, who each shot 145.

The Women’s Champion was Clarie Shubin, who carded a 71 on the second day to win the Women’s Championship Flight with a 150.

Men’s Flight Winner Layne Park shot 76-68-144 (even), and Joseph Schiebold won the Senior Flight with 69-75-144 (even).

In the Super Senior Flight, Matt Vukicevich shot 67-74-141 (3-under par) to take home the trophy, and Dylan Geck-Moeller, Victor Vanucci, and Wesley Beecham captured the Net division.

Sylvia Chu (white jacket) won the Women’s Net Championship, her “first-ever” golf trophy.

   Foxtail gives a hoot . . .

Welcome Owl #371 and Owl #381! Two Great Horned Owls who have been rehabilitated and released onto the Golf Course in early May. Now what to name these beautiful birds.

Foxtail is proud to be Audubon Certified, with a commitment to being stewards of the environment. A special thanks Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue for saving these amazing birds and relocating them to Foxtail
