Did you lose a ball a VOM???

When the groundskeeping crew at Valley of the Moon GC recently cut down an old tree on the 7th hole, they were surprised to see a collection of golf balls, some pretty old ones.

Quite an assortment . . .
Including some real old ones . . .

Hard to say how far back some these balls may go although the Oakmont course was opened in the early 1960s.

Coming up . . .

Jason is moving on . . .

Windsor GC’s Jason Schmuhl fared quite well in the recent Senior PGA Section Championship at Del Rio CC in Modesto.

Jason, competing in his first senior section event, shot 3-under par over a two-day event, the only player in the field under par.

His efforts qualify him for the National Championship in New Mexico Oct. 13-16.  That event is a qualifier for the Senior PGA Championship.

Good news for Jessica Reese Quayle

“Some of you might already know, but I have been selected LPGA Teacher of the Year for the Western Section.

“I am so honored and excited to accept this award, especially because it was peer nomination and selection. This is something that I have been working towards since I began teaching full time in 2007 and I am flattered that the LPGA has acknowledged my efforts.

“The LPGA Executive Committee will select the overall national award winner from among the 4 section award winners. The national winner will be announced in the coming weeks.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!”
