As the holidays fast approach, so do the school breaks that accompany them. For kids ages 4-12, Camp Epic at Sports City is the best way to ensure they have a fun time on their vacation from the classroom.
A typical day at Camp Epic starts with a warm up of tag based games such as but not limited to; Avalanche, Sharks & Minnows, Alien Tag and What Time is it Mr. Fox? Once all the campers are warmed up, they head over to the arcade for an hour of gaming, this is the only time they will spend in front of screens all day. Once the arcade time has wrapped up all campers move back to the field where the next couple of hours are spent. The kids will be broken up into groups according to age, with the older kids getting a field all to themselves. The younger group will either play soccer and revisit games that were played during warm ups, while the older kids will play games like soccer, kickball, baseball or dodgeball.
Once lunch time arrives, campers have their choice between grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs or chicken tenders. All options come with fries and the campers’ choice between water or juice. The campers are also given a healthy snack later in the day such as apple or orange slices.
When lunch is over it’s back to more fun and games—this time on the basketball courts. Campers are again divided according to age and games like basketball, dodgeball or futsal are played. After a couple hours on the court all campers head to the Rockin’ Jump (a camp favorite) for off the wall fun to finish out the day.
Parents have the option of choosing between a half and full day. Half days run 8am to Noon with full days running until 4pm. Snack options are included for half days and pricing options are available for single day campers. Camps will run from November 19-21, December 26-28 and January 2-4, with a special Martin Luther King Jr. Day camp on the 21st of January. Sports City’s Camp Epic requires that all campers be potty trained to attend, and because holiday plans can change, there is a 24-hour cancellation policy.
