Our local League tournaments are done, let’s look ahead to NCS! Here is my NCS Playoff Projections for local teams
Division 2
#3: Cardinal Newman
#4: Montgomery
#8: Windsor
#12: Santa Rosa
#13: Petaluma
Notes: #3 and #4 can be flip flopped. They split the season series, and have similar strength of schedules. Windsor still hosts a first round game, even though they lost to Montgomery in the NBL Tournament. The Jags do have good wins over Montgomery and Analy. Santa Rosa plays in the tough NBL, and has a head-to-head win over Petaluma. The Trojans beat Healdsburg in the SCL Tournament but fell to Analy last night in the SCL Championship. This is a tough bracket to play in this year.
Division 3
#3: Analy
#9: Piner
Notes: This is one of the weaker divisions in the NCS this year. Analy locked up the 3 seed behind Salesian Prep and Campolindo with their SCL Championship victory over Petaluma. Piner lost to Analy, Healdsburg twice, and Petaluma. Piner’s schedule doesn’t help their case for a first round home game.
Division 4
#9: Healdsburg
Notes: Healdsburg is the only local representative in division 4. Their home loss to Petaluma in the SCL Tournament costs them a chance at a home NCS playoff game.
The NCS Selection Show is Sunday morning at 11:30am. It will be live streamed on the NFHS Network.
