The week of playoff baseball begins on Wednesday with three games in the High School world.
We are winding down the school year and for the high school world, the NBL and SCL baseball league having its post season tournaments. That leads to the Sunday when the seeding for the NCS playoffs is picked.
Here is a look at what the local baseball and softball teams are staring at.
Sometimes it’s better to be luckier than good. The SRJC baseball team was both and because of that they are heading to the State Final Four. SRJC made the big step by defeating San Joaquin Delta 5-1 to finish one of the two Nor Cal finals undefeated. Two of its three wins were over fellow Big 8 member San Joaquin Delta.
The SRJC baseball team is hoping to have something to celebrate with the Mothers on Sunday besides Mother Day. They are one win away for making the State Final Four. They got in that position on Saturday by rallying from an early 3-0 deficit to defeat San Joaquin Delta 9-4.
It is ironic that the school year is almost over. People are planning for Graduation’s and finals.
It is ironic because this is the busiest it has been all year.

No. 1 Petaluma and No. 2 Maria Carrillo took care of the softball side of things on Thursday.
One of Four Super Regional is being host by SRJC starting on Friday. The winner advances to the State Final Four at Fresno City College which begins on May 17th.
If you’re a fan of Casa Grande there are a lot of bright sides, even though its 21 game winning streak has come to an end.
One is obvious; they are still NBL Baseball Champions for 2013. The other would be that this game didn’t happen next week during the NBL post season tournament or the following week when the Section playoffs begin.
With a win Carrillo can clinch a tie for the NBL Title.
