Three major programs in the North Bay will be getting new head coaches for next season, and perhaps the biggest move of all, is Tom Bonfigli moving on to St Vincent de Paul, who will be in the NBL-Redwood next season.
Bonfigli won 591 games at Cardinal Newman and 16 North Bay League championships. He won 816 games, eighth most in California history.
Bonfigli led Newman to a state title game in 2013, losing to Pacific Hills from Los Angeles 58-52.
Zac Tiedeman stepped away from his head coaching position at Montgomery this past week to spend more time with his family.
Tiedeman spent five seasons at the helm of the Vikings, leading them to an overall record of 97-52 record after taking over for Tom Fitchie before the beginning of the 2015-2016 season.
The Vikings made NBL Playoff Tournament Championship appearances in 3 seasons, NCS playoff appearances in all five of his seasons, and appeared in two Nor Cal playoff brackets.
Windsor Head Coach Jared Greninger stepped away last month. Windsor was moved down into the NBL-Redwood for at least the next two seasons.
Greninger compiled a 20-33 record in two seasons, and finished 4th in the NBL-Oak this past season.
Cardinal Newman, along with Windsor and Montgomery are now searching for new head coaches.
